A 29-year-old Gambrills man was killed and two others were injured in a crash in Howard County Sunday morning, according to the Howard County Police Department . At approximately 4:36 a.m. on Sunday, Nicholas Thomas Morrison was driving west on Guilford Road near Stirling Bridge Drive when his 2002 Nissan Frontier went off the road and hit a tree, police reported.

According to the town's charter Ufholz doesn't meet the town's residency requirements.The charter states a candidate for council must be a resident, and domiciled in Ocean City for at least four months prior to the election. Ufholz said he has been a property owner of a condo on 88th street since 1975, and a permanent resident of Ocean City since 2008.

A report commissioned by the county's Department of Liquor Control shows how much money each of the county's 25 retail liquor, wine and beer stores brought in from July 2012 to July 2013. The report was made public last week as DLC Director George Griffin appeared in front of the Council's Public Safety Committee.

A former Baltimore police officer who now works for the Montgomery County police department pleaded guilty Thursday felony workers' compensation fraud. Baltimore Circuit Judge Barry G. Williams sentenced Officer Gilbert L. Payne to a three-year suspended sentence and 300 hours of community service.
